RedBlack Software releases CyBake version 2.0 and beefs up training programme

York, England – August 8, 2008. York-based RedBlack Software today announces the release of version 2.0 of its CyBake business management solution for bakers.

New features in CyBake 2.0 include customer relationship management (CRM), workflow and complaint management, document management including PDF outputting, improved reporting, enhanced traceability tools and a postcode look-up function.

The improvements build on CyBake’s existing capabilities which include order processing, delivery notes, invoices, order summaries, prep sheets, recipe costing, stock control and purchase orders. Version 2.0 provides customers with a secure platform for their future plans.

“Bakers in the UK face a double whammy,” says RedBlack managing director Jane Tyler. “The soaring cost of raw materials is well documented, but bakers are also trying to track and manage those costs with IT systems that can be pretty antiquated and which suffer from low-levels of support from their original designers.”

RedBlack’s research suggests that many bakers in the UK rely on old programs that are coming to the end of their useful lives. If suppliers of such software fall victim to uncertain economic conditions, their customers will be left entirely exposed, says Tyler.

“CyBake 2.0 now handles more than what you could call ‘traditional’ functions such as sales order processing, recipe costing and stock management,” she says. “In the 2.0 version we have included modules for customer relationship management and, most importantly, the kind of enhanced traceability and compliance functions all British bakers now need.”

RedBlack has also improved its training services programme. “Many of our 60-plus customers have requested further formal training in order to get more out of the system,” says Tyler. “We have found that a ‘train the trainer’ approach works very well as this helps develop a CyBake ‘power user’ who is able to train other members of staff and thus keep our customers’ training costs down.”
